Smart Environment

SmartEnvironment is a holistic, modular system for the monitoring
of a host of internal and external environmental conditions,
this contributing to greater levels of health, safety, security and well being

The Evolvea SmartEnvironment platform entails an extensive range of environmental controls, measurements and evaluation versus permitted levels. These include detection of pollutants, their types and levels, noise, radiation, electromagnetic and many more. All measurements and remediation of violations are logged, hence a fine grained audit for a large amount of Environment, Health and Safety regulations can be provided automatically.

Some examples of applications in operation are:

  • Monitoring of microclimatic conditions : air temperature , average radiated temperature , relative humidity, wind speed and direction , barometric pressure , solar radiation, ultraviolet radiation, rainfall intensity , Weight relative to structure (e.g. after heavy snowfall) distance of lightning strikes
  • Monitoring of physical Conditions / chemical properties: surface temperature by contact or at a distance , soil moisture, soil pH , brightness
  • Monitoring of physical/chemical conditions; Surface temperature, ground humidity, ph levels in the soil, brightness
  • Monitoring of air quality versus benchmarks: concentrations of gas pollutants, or other matter
  • Monitoring the intensity of ionizing radiation: alpha radiation level resulting from the presence of radon, radiation level derived from the presence of radioactive material
  • Monitoring the level of noise pollution: noise levels in dB (A) and the same measure relative to a time period (i.e. detect continuous, unaccounted for, noise)(Leq (A))
  • Monitoring of electromagnetic pollution: radiofrequency field level. Detect continuous and alternating magnetic fields and their levels
  • Monitoring of the intensity of odor: odorous concentrations resulting from gases or vapors.

Technical Specifications
Large Garbage management facilities, petro chemical & gas plus a large number of industrial plants, are all exposed to a wide variety of odors, the detection of which is key for the management of the Environmental Health and Safety of the facilities and their surroundings. CROMoS (Continuous Remote Odour Monitoring System) has been conceptualized in line with the Odor Units regulation part of the European Union UNI EN 13725 norm for the detection and management of both hazardous and non-hazardous odors and their subsequent management. The CROMos System consists of the following
  • SmartNetwork of specifically developed sensors based upon the Evolvea long life self-powering technology and the likewise battery powered SmartNetwork for the delivery of data to our Big Data conform SmartCloud
  • The Evolvea SmartCloud for the real-time processing of data and use for Applications
  • Web Applications for the configuration, interrogation and processing of activities

Detection Network The Evolvea odor detection network of has been designed to identify and localize the presence of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other hazardous odors. The Evolvea sensors are based upon Photoelectrochemical processes with the ability to detect the presence of a vast array of Hydrocarbons, the main symptom of hazardous odors. The network of sensors can be easily connected to a local weather station, to take the current conditions into consideration.

Smart Network The Evolvea SmartNetwork is the most innovative of its kind. The battery operated components of routers and gateways are completely wireless and self-configuring. Hence installation and maintenance is literally “drag and drop “. The batteries have a lifespan of between 10 15 years and can have photovoltaic modules attached for a complete energy autonomy. Routers collaborate to provide complete redundancy and reliability, while Gateways enable the implementation of Sub networks and communicate with the data center via all Internet communication protocols.

Fire Detection and Warning Management System

Detection and localization of fire outbreaks

Technical Specifications
An intelligent system for the detection & localization of fire outbreaks across wide areas of coverage achieved through a process of reverse modelling.

When a group of sensors in close proximity detect smoke, the sequence of detection, coupled with the wind direction (taking potential wind channels into consideration), specially designed mathematical models can determine with high probability the source of the smoke, and issue corresponding alerts.

The system consists of:
