Chemicals, Oil and Gas

Subtle, Smart Powerful – Completely wireless, Completely cloud based Driving your business

By nature, these industries deal with with large amounts of hazardous materials within complex processing processes subject to stringent controls and regulations.

At the core of protecting these environments is the ability to detect and visualize Volatile organic compounds, manage subsequent remediation and activities and document this in line with regulatory requirements.

Evolvea implements activity programs for fugitive emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) complying with the following regulations;

  • LDAR protocol according to EPA 453/R95 – EN15446:2008 – ISPRA H18712 with inspective technique EPA Method 21 for the detection of fugitive emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) through FID and PID
  • ISPRA H18712 Definition of procedures for the implementation of plans for detection and control of VOC fugitive emissions in accordance with Annex H rules for the implementation of an LDAR program for refineries and chemical plants
  • EPA 453/R – 95 -017 Protocol for Equipment Leaks Emissions Estimate: Standard procedures for detecting & quantifying emissions from equipment leaks
  • EPA Leak Detection and Repair LDAR – Best Practices Guide

The Evolvea Platform includes a comprehensive suite of Governance and Management application, plus the plugins necessary for third party applications.

The Evolvea platform also incorporates applications in the area of Environment, Health and Safety, as well as Facility security, all in one fully integrated platform.

  • Smart Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) in accordance with ISPRA H18712
  • Photoionization detector (PID) & Flame ionization detector (FID)
  • Fugitive emissions in Storage tanks - AP 42 Protocol
  • Environment Health & Safety in Plants and Refineries

The Evolvea SmartPlatform is supports a wide range
of Chemical Oil & Gas challenges. The following is a list of challenges addressed using the Evolvea platform together with our network
of experts across the industry

Smart Leak Detection and Repair (SmartLDAR) in accordance with ISPRA H18712
Recent studies show that up to 80% of controllable fugitive emissions, come from leakages in approximately 2% of the process equipment. This may seem like the proverbial needle in the haystack, however the Smart Platform from Evolvea is designed to support this very process in an efficient and cost effective manner. Sensors detect the location of a leakage and Volatile Organic Compounds,, and activates optical gas imaging technology, which enables the visualization of leakages in real-time, and the subsequent intervention.
Photoionization detector (PID) & Flame ionization detector (FID)
Detect Volatile organic and other gases, and measure their concentrations (part per billion), relative to dangerous levels and indeed air quality.
Fugitive emissions in Storage tanks - AP 42 Protocol
In compliance with the AP 42 Protocol (“Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors”), The Evolvea Smart Platform quantifies VOC emissions resulting from the storage of hydrocarbons and other organic substances. This can be integrated with the SmartLDAR system.
Environment Health & Safety
  • Evolvea Smart Wearable’s: Enforce in real-time the use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Localized measurement & optimization of HVAC electric, gas, water , heat consumption,
  • Monitoring of air quality & humidity, emissions and noise levels relative to regulations
  • Connectivity: Digital Signage for addressing workers
  • Lighting: Control of lighting levels and types in key areas
  • Enforce two man principle where applicable – Machinery, Equipment and Places
  • Alarms – Fire, Gas, Emissions – Management of evacuation plans
  • Regular certification of extinguishers
  • Manage disposal and water treatment
Security
  • Intelligence based video surveillance and alarm system – e.g. presence detected in certain areas at certain time, without SmartID, while result in an alarm and incident recording with
  • Perimeter security – Smart Fence which in itself becomes a large sensor. Any tampering will result in Alerts and subsequent activities
  • Geo-referenced monitoring of parts and equipment relative to plan
  • Access & Security: In particular access by unauthorized persons to reserved areas and outside of permitted times
